  1. Question on the Soul EV.. rumors flying Kia got rid of the panoramic sunroof as an option. That tiny thing they put in the Niro is a joke after having a Pano Sunroof!

If this is true, thats very sad. In the older Soul that panoramic sunroof was beautiful. The Soul EV was, in my opinion, a poor mans Tesla lol .. none of the other lower-end EV's do anything like a glass roof or panoramic sunroof …

  2. I like your show. It informs about the changing EV market in North America and not just Tesla. I love my Model 3 and Tesla as the starter to make EVs attractive and desirable. But with this start I’m looking forward to other automakers entering the market and making EVs available and affordable to the mainstream.

  3. The Nismo Leaf RC looks cool but they’re not going to get enough use out of it. They should have them in an FE support series or something. It would be way better than the I-Pace e-Trophy.

Also I love the new Soul. It’s great to see how they can just put that drivetrain in anything. I hope we see an i20 soon to compete with the next gen Zoe.

  4. it would be a great car if it had liquid battery cooling, now its just something half baked, especially a race car… the battery degradation rates on it will be amazing

  5. Another awesome show, e-Kart Ken! I'm really pleased to see the Soul platform updated, it looks like a very compelling vehicle, and a great complement to the Niro. Hopefully production volumes will increase as I believe demand will be very strong, especially with Kia's reputation for quality, value and long warranties. It's great to see EV platforms being used for multiple vehicles, that should simplify production and reduce costs while offering more choices to consumers. The award certficate you presented for the Niro was a nice touch also, Ken. I agree that the Genesis concept is beautiful, it may be far away from production, but they do make a (very different) gas engined Genesis Coupe already, so who knows?

  6. Great show, Ken! I was heartened by the larger electrification presence at this auto show. Compared to the one in Detroit, this was a pleasant surprise! As for the new BEVs, I was happy to see some of the updated features. I like that you gave your award certificate to KIA, since I agree with you about the Niro. They well deserve it, imho! Too bad no one was around to talk to you about the Audi e-Tron, though you did an excellent job of poking around in it and showing us some of the the specs.. It is a good looking car! I also liked the Mercedes EQ 400 — it sure has lots of power.. The Genesis Essentia Concept really blew me away! All I can say is, Wow!! Reminds me somewhat of the Batmobile I see around downtown Brampton occasionally, in the summer. Thank you for doing such a good work of covering this very interesting Auto Show and showing us all that pertains to BEVs!! 🙂 .

  7. Is The Genesis still the luxury off shoot of Hyundai or is it a different company? Your show could be so much better without all the Cross Talk. It becomes especially grating when you want to hear the answers to questions posted.

  8. re 2;45 safety how about going back and looking at human ergonomics while seated – side movement make seats more inbound or pillars/doors further out, curtain airbags are a response to decades old thinking on seat to body position.

  9. regarding the carbon body did you put fia safety cage requirement specs into computer and get the relevant carbon layout/thicknesses so its equivalent to steel body with safety cage inside ???
